How and Why Jeep Sound Systems are Evolving into Entertainment Systems?

Parts & Accessories

Picking the best sound systems for Jeep Wrangler can increase the sheer enjoyment of steering this incredible vehicle. Increasing the sound quality renders every trip out that much more thrilling. A better sound system can do wonders for your Jeep. Imagine blasting down the highway on a beautiful day while listening to your favorite songs – perfection!

What type of audio system boost should you desire? People enjoy installing surround sound systems in their apartments, but is this something you should look for in a car? Let’s discuss how jeep sound systems serve as a source of entertainment so you can determine which is the best sound system for Jeep Wrangler.

Surround Sound

Surround sound is a sound technology that was developed to allow listeners to be surrounded by sound from all directions. To improve the sound quality, the sound is blended and amplified in a particular manner.

Surround sound has numerous sound streams, each of which is aimed at a different speaker. Surround sound installations place the speakers around the “perfect spot,” which is the area where the best audio performance is obtained.

This technology was originally intended to be used in movie theatres, but it has since gained popularity in home theatres. Many people install their Jeep Wrangler with multiple speakers to improve their audio experience.

Stereo

Stereo sound, from the other side, is created using only two audio stations. The right and left sounds are aligned to produce a better sound than single- (one channel), but it appears to lack the intensity provided by surround sound.

Best Jeep Wrangler Stereo Systems

The perfect sound system systems for Jeep Wranglers have multiple speakers that handle multiple audio channels. Take a glance at a speaker kit that contains at least four main speakers as well as a tweeter. Introducing a high-quality subwoofer to your system would take this to a whole higher platform.

There are a variety of speaker improvement options available. Selecting the perfect sound systems for Jeep Wrangler is a question of taste. It all varies depending on what kind of music you pay heed to, how to roar you would like it to be, how many tones you like, and so on.

Custom Audio Upgrades and Subwoofers

You’ll need a subwoofer if you’re serious about adding authenticity and texture to your sound quality. As again, the options are practically unlimited and range from moderate to breathtakingly wild. A subwoofer improvement not only boosts the bass in your music, but it also eliminates a need for a small speaker to try to recreate these vibrations. As a result, the audio system as a whole will feel better by playing loudly.

Latest Sound Bar Speakers

Speakers at the back of the vehicle may or may not be relevant to you, based on your sound experience. Small speakers in the ceiling soundbar have been selected once again for the Jeep Wranglers. Increasing the size of these will enhance efficiency and bass quality.

Like always, you have the possibility of choosing anything built specifically for your vehicle.

Increase the number of speakers

Installing too many speakers to your Jeep Wrangler might quickly fill up all the available areas. Rather than feeling like you’re in your automobile, you can start to experience it like you’re in a moving radio station.

However, if the existing number of speakers isn’t giving you the listening experience you want, adding extra speakers can be the answer.

You have plenty of room to put more speakers if you don’t use the space under the seats or in the trunk. You’ll have to get a little more creative with speaker placement if you want to keep those locations clear for other storage.

Conclusion

Don’t worry if you’re like most Jeep Wrangler enthusiasts and your small off-audio roader’s system isn’t up to standard. It’s possible to improve it. Improving the sound system of your Jeep Wrangler will make you adventurous trips, bonfires in the forest, etc good entertainment.

How to Prevent Theft with Keyless Car Entry

Parts & Accessories

Stealing car keys is no longer the sole option for thieves to gain access to your keyless entry cars. They take advantage of technology in the same manner that we do, but they use it to harm rather than good. These types of thefts are simple to do if you don’t take the appropriate precautions to prevent potential thieves in their tracks.

Technology is continuously improving our life easier, such as the ability to enter your car with your hands full of groceries, thanks to keyless entry cars. The more privileged we are, though, the more we relax our guard.

Unfortunately, there are far too many people looking to take advantage of this, and theft has evolved in conjunction with security precautions. So, if you’re curious whether remote monitoring your vehicle puts you at risk, keep reading to learn how to mitigate the risk.

Tips for Preventing Car Theft

As previously said, the skill set required to successfully boost an automobile has evolved over time as our vehicles have become more complex and appear to be safer.

Carmakers and law police have worked hard to prevent car theft, but determined criminals have worked just as hard to defeat those barriers and invent new ways to steal the car.

These are some of the most popular ways used by these astute thieves to circumvent your car’s security protocols, and along with it are the steps you can take to avoid car theft:

• When a key fob is in close enough proximity to its comparative vehicle, it emits a signal. This instructs the vehicle to unlock its doors without the use of a key. Thieves only need to use a wireless key fob scanner outside of the car owner’s house or at a nearby restaurant table.

This method is known as signal relaying because the device catches the emissions and transmits them to some other device in the hand of an associate near the car.

• Criminals, on the other hand, can actually disrupt the signal. This is done as the owner exits their vehicle, preventing the key fob from starting the locking procedure as they move away from the car, deciding to leave the door open.

Look no further if you want to know how to keep your car from being stolen or damaged. Here are some of the most popular ways you can take to prevent car theft:

• When you leave the car, always double-check that it is locked. When the locks are activated remotely, your car will typically make a noise or the headlights/indicators will blink. However, you should check the grip to ensure that you haven’t been duped by a signal encoder.

• When at home, or even when outside, keep your key in a secure container. This could be an aluminum tin or something parallel, but in the United States, some wallets and purses are now covered with signal-blocking material properties. By preventing the signal from being copied or relayed, you ensure that it cannot be replicated or shared.

• Alternatively, if your key fob allows it, you could turn it off. This means that no signal will be available for thieves to intercept or relay. The best time to do this is, of course, at night.

• Many thieves who rely on high-tech devices are unaware of traditional security systems such as steering wheel locks. Similarly, you could install a lock on the car’s diagnostic port so that even if someone gains access to your vehicle, they won’t be ready to start it.

• Another option is to install a GPS tracker in your vehicle so that you can locate it if it is stolen. Unless deactivated, the device will send a signal to you or your security company if it detects unusual activity.

Conclusion:

However, there is no avoiding the fact that there is additional risk when using your keyless entry cars or another car unlocking device (including your smartphone) to activate your car from a range. Vehicles with keyless ignition systems are even more vulnerable because thieves who manage to break the locks have to do very little to start the car.

What are the Various Types of Vehicle Security Systems?

Parts & Accessories

Your vehicle is the second most important asset you own, after your home. Because of its high cost, it also carries some safety risks. To avoid all of these dangers, you must be familiar with all of the safety features that a vehicle can have.

In recent years, car thefts have been steadily decreasing. The increasing sophistication of technology in many automobiles has significantly reduced the frequency of safety threats. Give it some thought if you don’t value safety.

Below are some types of vehicle locking system to keep your vehicle secure.

• Alarm

If an unauthorized person enters the vehicle, a vehicle alarm emits a high-pitched sound. To detect theft, an increasing number of vehicles are outfitted with systems that can be activated and deactivated using a coded radio remote control or a remote key fob.

The radio receiver employs a cryptographically secure rolling code. This contributes to the vehicle’s overall security. In most cases, these alarms cannot be disarmed from the key fob; however, they may have an override switch mounted in a hidden location. Alarms are typically installed in the vehicle’s hood, trunk, and doors.

• LoJack

A radio-tracking to track down and recover stolen vehicles is a well-known vehicle security system called LoJack. Most tracking devices operate on the same principle: small transceivers are hidden somewhere inside the vehicle and can be tracked by an outside source tuned to the appropriate frequency.

Because GPS receivers require line-of-sight to an orbiting satellite to acquire a positioning fix, systems such as the LoJack have the advantage of tracking cars in areas where GPS will fail.

• Cover the VIN

Every vehicle has a unique vehicle identification number (VIN), which is a series of digits. The VIN is located on the dashboard and can be seen through the windshield. Covering the VIN to conceal it from prying eyes is one method used by car thieves to conceal the identity of a vehicle.

If a car is stolen and ends up at a chop shop, it will be carved up and sold for parts, and a single VIN won’t help much. However, using a technique known as VIN etching, you can apply that one-of-a-kind identification number to your car windows, making it difficult and costly to sell the car for parts.

• OnStar

This system is powered by a digital cellular network. OnStar can help you find your way back home when you get lost on a country back.

You can request assistance by pressing the button in your car at any time of day. An advisor assists you in getting home by providing turn-by-turn directions. OnStar is a three-button system that provides various types of assistance.

• Central Locking System

Power door locks also known as electric door locks or central locking enable the driver or front passenger to lock or unlock all the doors of a vehicle at the same time by pressing a button or flipping a switch. Almost every car model today includes this feature of vehicle locking system as standard or optional equipment.

• Engine Immobilizer

The engine immobilizer is a cutting-edge anti-theft system. By inserting the key into the ignition switch or bringing in a Smart Key fob, the key sends an electronic code to the vehicle.

Only if the code in the transponder chip inside the key or Smart Key fob matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer will be able to start the engine. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key or Smart Key fob, replacing it can be costly.

Every year, thousands of cars are stolen; the number of such incidents can be reduced by using secure vehicle locking systems. It is your responsibility to keep your car safe from theft or burglary. Many anti-theft devices, security devices, and other items designed with cutting-edge technology are available at reasonable prices.

What Is the Best Time to Replace or Repair the Clutch Pressure Plates?

Parts & Accessories

Clutch Pressure Plates

The clutch of a vehicle transmits the power that the engine generates to its gearbox. In a manual transmission car, you need to disengage this power flow to change gears effectively after starting the vehicle and subsequently while driving. The clutch pressure plates handle this interruption in power transmission.

Understanding clutch pressure plates

A clutch connects two shafts and enables them to lock together and spin at the same speed or separate and spin differently. The clutch has four parts, and these consist of a cover plate with a diaphragm spring, a pressure plate, a driven plate, and a release bearing. The cover plate is attached to the flywheel with bolts, and the flywheel connects to the engine.

The driven plate lies between the flywheel and the heavy metal pressure plate. A friction material covers it on either side. That enables it to grip the flywheel and the pressure plate and smoothly take up the drive when the clutch is engaged.

When you depress the pedal to disengage the clutch, a release bearing gets pushed against the diaphragm spring center and makes it release the clamping pressure. The pressure plate then stops clamping the driven plate to the flywheel. As a result, the power transmission gets interrupted, and you can change the gears.

Clutch pressure plate problems

A properly functioning clutch is essential for smooth gear engagement and changes. However, problems can arise with the clutch pressure plate for the following reasons:

The friction lining of the driven plate has worn out, and its metal parts grind directly against the pressure plate and damage it.

Some of the pressure plate fingers that protrude through the driven plate’s center are bent or broken and therefore cannot grip it properly. That can cause issues with engaging and disengaging the clutch and gears.

If the installation of the release bearing is incorrect with the pressure plate or if the clutch cable is too tight, it can cause the clutch to slip and damage the pressure plate.

A slipping clutch can cause the clutch system to overheat, and that can damage the pressure plate.

Improper gear changes can also damage the pressure plate.

Symptoms of pressure plate problems

Faulty or malfunctioning clutch pressure plates could be the cause of the following problems with your vehicle:

Clutch slippage

If the car does not seem to have much power and has a higher RPM, it may be because of clutch slippage. It can happen when the friction material of the pressure plate has worn off. Replacing the pressure plate can resolve the issue, but generally, changing the entire clutch assembly is necessary for resolving clutch slippage issues.

Trouble shifting gears

You may find it hard to shift gears when you press the clutch pedal. Moving a selected gear to neutral or from neutral to the desired gear may be a noisy affair, or it may not move at all. The problem generally arises because the clutch pressure plate cannot disengage properly. You might need to change it or adjust the clutch cable or replace the clutch fluid.

Excessive shuddering

The vehicle shudders when you are driving at low speed and releases the clutch pedal. If the shuddering does not go away, it means that the clutch pressure plate has worn out and cannot push as it should against the driver plate. You may need to replace it.

Grinding noises

When you release the clutch pedal, you may hear grinding noises. That may be indicative of a worn-out clutch release bearing or bent pressure plate fingers. The entire clutch assembly can get damaged if you do not address the problem as soon as possible.

When to replace or repair the clutch pressure plates?

It may be time to replace or repair the clutch pressure plates if you experience these problems. Generally, you may not encounter these issues until after driving the vehicle for over 100,000 kilometers. However, your driving style could also hasten the need for a change. For instance, if you drive the car with your foot on the clutch pedal or tend to press it halfway in heavy traffic, you are likely to encounter clutch problems sooner and require clutch pressure plate repairs or replacements.

What is the Purpose of a Subwoofer Box?

Parts & Accessories

Jeep Gladiator Subwoofer Box

Subwoofers can enhance your listening experience on short or long drives. The low frequencies they produce can send the pounding beats of your favorite music vibrating throughout your Jeep Gladiator interior. You end up not just listening to music but experiencing it. If you install the subwoofers as they are in your vehicle, though, the vibrations and bumps are likely to cause mechanical damage to the speakers over time. To prevent that from happening, you need to get a Jeep Gladiator subwoofer box.

What is a subwoofer box?

A Jeep Gladiator subwoofer box is an enclosure that houses the subwoofer and prevents it from rattling about when you play loud music or go on off-road drives. You can get subwoofer boxes made of medium-density fiberboard (MDF), plywood, fiberglass, or plastic, but the high-quality ones are generally of MDF. It is a thick, strong, and durable material and capable of withstanding high temperatures. Fiberglass is also a good choice if you are looking for a weatherproof option.

You can buy ready-made subwoofer boxes or get them customized in a straight or slant design to fit your subwoofers and your interior space.

What are the types of subwoofer boxes?

There are three types of subwoofer boxes:

Sealed subwoofer boxes

These are airtight enclosures with single or multiple cut-out openings for the speakers. Since there is no airflow within the box, the subwoofer comes under internal pressure as its cone moves to and fro to produce sound. The subwoofer must have more power to overcome the pressure build-up and create an accurate bass sound.

The sealed subwoofer boxes are compact and can fit into your Jeep Gladiator without taking up too much interior space. They are a great choice if you are an audiophile and the accuracy of the bass sounds matters to you. The downside is that, since there is no airflow in the sealed box, the subwoofer can overheat with continuous play.

Ported subwoofer boxes

Also known as vented subwoofer boxes, these enclosures have holes or ports at their sides or bottoms to allow airflow. That ensures equal pressure within and without the box, and the subwoofer will require less power to produce loud bass sounds. The vents allow for a more harmonious flow of low-frequency sounds waves. The sound may be less accurate than what you get with a sealed subwoofer box, and ported boxes are bigger in comparison too.

Bandpass subwoofer boxes

These enclosures are bigger than the sealed and ported subwoofer boxes and combine their designs. A bandpass subwoofer box has two chambers, one sealed and the other with a port. The subwoofer is in the sealed chamber and plays into the ported one, which acts as a filter and allows only specific band frequencies out for your listening pleasure.

What are the benefits of subwoofer boxes?

Protects the subwoofer: A subwoofer box protects the subwoofer by preventing it from rattling around from both the Jeep motion and the cone movements when you play loud music.

Prevents overheating: The vents in the subwoofer box allow a continuous flow of air and keep the subwoofer cool even after playing music for an extended period.

Provides better aesthetics: You can get subwoofer boxes with carpeted exteriors to match the interior of your Jeep Wrangler. The carpeting is not just about aesthetics, though. It can provide extra protection to the subwoofer box and the subwoofer.

Ensures great bass: While protecting the subwoofer from damage is the main purpose of the subwoofer box, it also serves to prevent flat and distorted sounds arising from the collision of the rear sound waves with the front sound waves.

Tips for installing subwoofer boxes

Follow these tips to get the most out of your Jeep Gladiator subwoofer box:

• Seal the joints with wood glue to prevent air leaks and made the box stronger.

• Match the subwoofer box dimensions to those of the subwoofer system and your Jeep Gladiator trunk, and get a box that is an exact fit or a near close fit to prevent the subwoofer from rattling inside it.

• Install the subwoofer box in the trunk, under the rear seats, or any area without direct sun exposure to prevent warping or heat damage.

What is a Quick Shifter and Why You Might Need One for Your Bike?

Parts & Accessories

Quick Shifters

Quick shifters find widespread use in the motorcycle racing industry, where every split second is crucial, and the moment it takes to change gears can determine whether you win or lose the race. They are easy to install, and you can achieve faster lap times when you replace clutchless upshifting with quick shifting. Many regular motorcyclists also install quick shifters for the convenience and better performance they provide.

What is a quick shifter?

A quick shifter is an electronic device that you can install on motorcycles that have manual transmission. Its specific purpose is to reduce the time you would usually take to change the motorcycle gears. After installing the quick shifter, you do not need to use the clutch or the throttle to shift gears, and that results in faster gear changes and a reduction in motorcycle speed to put you at a disadvantage during a race.

What are the types of quick shifters?

You can get two types of quick shifters for your motorcycle. The first type allows clutchless upshifting, and the second type allows both clutchless upshifting and clutchless downshifting. Since the second type blips or automatically opens the throttle when downshifting the gears, it is also called an auto blipper. It provides smooth downshifting by increasing the motorcycle engine RPM and matching the revs to its speed and also prevents the rear wheel from locking up.

How do quick shifters work?

Quick shifters work by cutting and reactivating the ignition spark plugs within a few milliseconds. When you fit a quick shifter device on your motorcycle, you can attach its sensor switch to the gearshift rod or lever. Every time you compress the lever to change gears, the sensor senses the pressure and cuts off the spark plugs. Cutting the ignition takes the load off the gearbox, and it becomes easier to change the gears. The quick shifter then reactivates the ignition. The whole process takes place so fast it does not affect the motorcycle speed.

To achieve the same effect in a regular motorcycle without a quick shifter, you have to disengage the drivetrain from the engine by rolling the throttle and pulling the clutch. The gearbox will lose its load as the engine revs fall and the power flow to the transmission stops. You can then easily change the gears. Next, you can release the clutch and roll back the throttle to regain your earlier motorcycle speed. It is also a fast process, but it still takes seconds more than the quick shifter. The brief lag could set you back in a race.

Why you might need a quick shifter for your bike?

You might need a quick shifter for your motorcycle for these reasons:

• It makes it easier to shift the motorcycle gears.
• It saves you from having to use the clutch or throttle for before or after gear shifts.
• It enables you to change gears without losing the motorcycle speed.
• It takes a mere millisecond to do the upshift.
• It is possible to change gears while turning around a corner.
• It only takes a single move to shift with a quick shifter.
• It makes for a convenient and hassle-free ride.

Is it worth it to get a quick shifter?

It depends on your purpose for getting a quick shifter. If you are into racing, then the extra cost that adds to the overall price of the motorcycle for getting a factory-installed or aftermarket device may very well be worth your while. It will improve your chances of winning races after all. Just make sure you get a device compatible with your motorcycle model when buying an aftermarket option. These devices do not work at low speeds with some engines and could give you a bumpy ride.

If you only mean to ride your motorcycle on busy city streets, then the expense of getting a quick shifter may not be worth it. When you have no intention of speeding, the time lag does not matter. You could instead try clutchless shifting, which is shifting the motorcycle gears without using the clutch. However, you have to do this precisely, or you could end up ruining the gearbox.
