Here are the rules we follow when preparing texts: who is responsible for them, what they rest on and how quickly inaccuracies are fixed.
Who is responsible for the material
The same person writes and proofreads the texts, so there is always someone answerable for each statement on the site.
Material on this site is prepared and checked by Marcus Thornton.
What the statements rest on
Figures, dates and quotations are checked against the primary source. When a statement relies on someone else data, the text names the owner of that data and the period it covers.
Corrections procedure
An error report is reviewed within a few working days. If the error is confirmed, the text is corrected and the update date and the reason for the edit are shown on the page.
